Crowds Piling Up for Recreation Forces Cities to Find New Solutions for Social Distancing

Social Distancing - Masks & Gloves - Covid-19

Tuesday, May 26th, 2020 - Cincinnati, Ohio: During Memorial Day weekend, thousands of people were flocking to public venues and potentially spreading COVID-19, while a Social Distancing T-Shirt trend is taking off in the Midwest to fight the transmission of the virus.

With spring already here, summer around the corner, and holidays and events tempting us with fun-filled days, social distancing can be challenging. Some people who are frustrated with social distancing found themselves packed in together in various overcrowded locations during this past holiday weekend.

Even with strict guidelines, people were nearly on-top of one another in the few places that would allow them to convene there. For example, here’s just two, of hundreds of locations, where people had complete disregard for social distancing. Photo 1 is at Lake of the Ozarks. Photo 2 is in Daytona Beach where a large crowd gathered, blocking traffic. Both shots were taken over Memorial Day weekend.

Over Memorial Day weekend, 25 States reported increases in their average Covid 19 cases, with 4 states spiking to record highs. In Arkansas, a second peak in cases was traced back to a highschool pool party.

Opinions on social-distancing very widely, and not everyone understands the severity of the situation. While some people around the U.S. are protesting their stay-at-home order, others are flocking to purchase social distancing T-shirts from the Covid Response Store to protect their families from the virus. Angela Reuss, mother of 3, and graphic designer, has been busy growing the social-distancing movement to keep people safe and flatten the curve with her witty social-distancing T-shirt line.

These large print shirts have phrases such as: “Save Your Friends - Social Distance” and “Social Distancing- all the cool kids are doing it”.

Not only are these social distancing T-shirts helping to combat this virus, but 100% of the profit from the sales of these T-shirts are going to the COVID-19 Response Fund.

Social Distancing T Shirts- Coronavirus - Covid 19

Angela Reuss Stated: “The more that people wear these shirts, the more others will understand that people are actually social-distancing, and it’s not that big of a deal to do so. By all means, get out and have some recreation time,  but now is more important than ever to practice safe social distancing. We don’t have to pile in with droves of people in order to have a good time. We can mentally and emotionally stand together, while physically standing apart at the same time. The message here is to social distance, not emotional distance. ”

Angela also created T-shirts to honor our first responders and essential workers such as Doctors, Nurses, Truckers, Grocery Workers, Police & Fire, as well as other essential workers.

“When this pandemic swept our nation, and other places around the world, I just felt like there was more I should do than just stay home during the stay-at-home order. Here, I'm staying safely at home, away from all the madness, while there are people, such as first responders, out there on the front lines, battling this war. This is what inspired me to make shirts to acknowledge and support essential workers and social distancing, while simultaneously raising money for the COVID-19 Response Fund.”, Ms. Reuss said.

The purpose of the Covid-19 Response Fund is to:

  • Track and understand the spread of the virus
  • Ensure patients get the care they need and frontline workers get essential supplies and information
  • Accelerate research and development of a vaccine and treatments for all who need them

T-shirts are available to the public.

Large Groups Party Amidst COVID-19, while Social Distancing T Shirt Campaign is Taking Off

Angela Reuss- Social Distancing Shirts - Covid 19 - Coronavirus
Tuesday, May 19th, 2020 - Cincinnati, Ohio: Despite Cincinnati making national news for people partying in large groups and potentially spreading COVID-19, a Social Distancing T-Shirt trend is blowing up in the Midwest to fight the transmission of the virus.

With various bars & restaurants reopening, now it's more important than ever, to practice safe social distancing. However, others are not taking it so seriously. Upon reopening Cincinnati bars and restaurants over this past weekend, with strict guidelines, some places were overflowing with patrons-- who were not social distancing.

For example, some viral pictures were taken of people who were partying it up, standing shoulder to shoulder, at locations such as The Banks in Downtown Cincinnati, the Rosedale Bar, and Blind Pig Bar in Cincinnati Over The Rhine. .People Refusing to Social Distance During Coronavirus PandemicPhoto Sources:Pic 1: Derek Bauman: Snapchat   Pic 2: Richard Metzger: Twitter

Many people have spoken out on Social Media in complete shock at the lack of responsibility.

Single Mom Combats the COVID-19 Pandemic with Social Distancing T-Shirt Campaign

Telling someone to stand back feels awkward, but in today’s atmosphere, it’s necessary, and encouraged due to the COVID-19 world-wide pandemic. Some people have gone through drastic measures to ensure that others are staying away from them. From swimming pool noodles, to inflatable unicorn costumes, they’re getting the job done.

However, single mom, Angela Reuss, found another way to address this situation with these Social Distancing T-Shirts. These large print shirts have phrases such as: “Don’t Stand so Close to Me” and “Social Distancing- all the cool kids are doing it”.

Angela is donating 100% of the profit from this T-shirt campaign to the COVID-19 Response Fund.

According to Ms. Reuss, “Going to the store and seeing people not respect social distancing rules is utterly frustrating and dangerous, especially in the city. I try to stay out of the way, and people still seem to find a way to walk really close to me, even when I’m trying to walk away from them. It’s incredibly disturbing. I’m sure others are feeling this same kind of frustration. So I decided to make a Social Distancing T-Shirt campaign, which will not only help people like me get the message across, but also raise money to combat this pandmeic.”

Angela also created T-shirts for first responders and essential workers such as Doctors, Nurses, Truckers, Grocery Workers, Police & Fire, as well as other essential workers.
